FRM Exam structure:
The FRM exam has transitioned to a two level exam starting November 2009. Begining in May 2010 the FRM exams will be administered twice a year in May and November. Also it will become mandatory for candidates to pass both the levels before being awarded the FRM title.
However it is possible for candidates to appear for both levels in the same exam sitting and thereby complete the exam in one attempt!
This is because Level I exam will be administered in the morning and Level II exam will be administered in the afternoon and GARP is allowing candidates to register and sit for both exams on the same day.
However, the candidate must pass Part I in order for Part II to be graded. If a candidate passes Part I and fails Part II, the candidate will have to take Part I again, only if they have decided to sit for Part I & II in the same day.
